On April 24-26, 2026 the second annual Desert Rodeo took place between 11:00am-6:00pm on the grounds of Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, California.  The weather was exceptional, the crowds were large, and the excitement was intense.

Produced by Zenda Productions, this year’s world-class event coincided with the popular Stage Coach Country Music Festival held just 5 miles away at the Empire Polo Grounds in Thermal, CA.

In addition to the many PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) performances, in a large Midway area adjacent to rodeo arena, the attendees had the opportunity to savor some incredible food including barbeque and smashburgers; shops offering western apparel, cowboy hats, boot, jewelry, and much more; music; a family fun zone with a petting zoo, mechanical bull ride; and no shortage of booths selling whiskey and beer.

The rodeo arena itself had a large general admission bleachers section($75 per person) as well as front-row private premium boxes with cabana-style seating and a large section of high top tables ($1000 per table) that each accommodate four people.

One inside the rodeo arena, each performance of the rodeo kicked off with an American flag being flown by a skydiver who landed dramatically in the center of the arena preceded by the national anthem. Those in attendance had the opportunity to watch these rodeo athletes perform in such events as bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, bull riding, and more.

The Desert Rodeo created an unforgettable experience that blended the tradition of PCRA rodeo with the energy and activities of a modern festival.  Dates for the 2027 Desert Rodeo have not yet been announced but will be sometime in late April.
